A Grandfather Clock Can Get You to Work On Time, Create Lifetime Memories
Growing up and into my early adult years, my parents had a grandfather clock that kept pristine time. Thanks to the quarterly chimes, I knew just how much time I had left to get ready for school and for work. The chimes also added a touch of Zen to my hectic mornings.
I loved that clock and, to be quite honest, I miss it, too. It was one of those grandfather clock where we had to raise the weights every so often to keep it going. I was always amazed how something so remarkable could be powered by simple gravity. It looked good, it sounded great (we could choose from a few melodic chimes) and, as I mentioned, that grandfather clock kept perfect time.
You know what I'm talking about. Look, we all have busy lives and we all rely on clocks to keep us on schedule. Whether we're trying to make it to work on time or to a job interview, we need to know what time it is. And as long as you need to know what time it is, why have a timepiece that's as beautiful to look at and hear as it is functional?
I've been thinking about getting a grandfather clock for a while now, and The Lady of the House thinks it may be time (pardon the pun) to start looking. I've told her about 1800-4Clocks before, but now that she's onboard with getting a grandfather clock, it may be worth it to remind her of how large a selection they have and how easy it is to navigate around the site.
Yeah, I miss that grandfather clock my parents had. But now that I'm a parent, maybe it's time that I get one to add to our family fabric. And get us all to work and school on time.
