ADDING VALUE: How Your MP3 Player Can Improve Your Career

What's on your MP3 player?

Like most people, I use my MP3 player to listen to my favorite tunes (Rolling Stones, Elvis, Garth Brooks, Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, etc.) when I'm running, biking or doing some other form of exercise.

Recently, though, I've begun using my MP3 player to help me multi-task and add value to my career - and The Daily Machete - by listening to things other than music while I do cardio (I still have to have the Stones when I'm working out with weights). Here are a few things you can add to your MP3 player to help you in your work search, add value to your career and obtain information:

Jobs in Pods . This is a very cool hybrid site. Jobs in Pods is part blog, part podcast. It has phone interviews with employers they call "Jobcasts." This is a great place to turn if you want to know what it's like to work at a particular company. Their Jobcasts include interviews with recruiters at AT&T, Colorado Srings Utilities, Walgreens, LaSalle Bank and more. Jobs in Pods is a great use of your MP3 player.

WorkVine from Robert Half . Robert Half has a great podcast series on conducting a work search. Topics range from What’s In and What’s Out on the Job Hunt to Resumes That Pop to Company Dress Code and more. This series of podcasts is a must for any job seeker with an MP3 player.

JobDig Podcasts
. Job seekers should definitely check out JobDig. Not only do they provide the best job search advice from around the web (including The Daily Machete), but you can also browse for jobs based on job type. JobDig Podcasts, however, offer absolutely fantastic job search advice you can download for free. This is an absolute MUST for every job seeker’s MP3 player!

IN THE CARAVAN: Use your MP3 player for more that listening to music. By doing so, you can add value to your career and your life.
